Come learn about this innovative approach with us. The lethality assessment protocol (LAP) is a collaborative tool used in domestic violence cases to immediately get the victim in touch with domestic violence victim advocate services and counseling. The immediacy of that contact has been shown to dramatically reduce risk of homicide or serious injury to the victim in the future.

The LAP has been in used in Johnson County, KS since 2011 and since then, Johnson County saw its intimate partner homicide rate drop from

5 in 2011 to 1 in 2013. It has been nearly two years since the last intimate partner homicide. Two members of the Johnson County team will be presenting at the training.
