For people working with crime victims, it is important to understand the impact of the work that we do, recognize the signs of vicarious trauma, and identify ways to become trauma resilient. To do this, we must explore our current methods of coping and develop new tools to reduce the impact and incidence of vicarious trauma. Are the ways in which we cope sustainable enough to allow us to do our job effectively over time? How can we maintain balance in our lives so that we are able address the needs of our clients, our agency and ourselves? This training will provide a foundation and address these crucial questions.
