2018 LEAD Registration

You have the power to help ensure that the voices of domestic violence survivors are heard and understood by Colorado’s State Legislature and Members of Congress. Learn about the issues, stay informed, build relationships with your elected representatives, and take action!

Want to take action on domestic violence related public policy issues? Then sign up for our legislative action list! CCADV relies upon advocates, allies and survivors of domestic violence to contact State Legislators and Colorado’s Members of Congress at critical points to shape legislation and funding for domestic violence shelters and programs. We ask you to take a few minutes of your time to call, email or meet with your representatives about specific legislation. Your action is powerful and meaningful in the life of a survivor of domestic violence.

Save the Date for #LEAD2018: February 12, 2018! Participants will help to educate legislators on issues surrounding victim safety and perpetrator accountability. LEAD will provide participants with tools so that they can talk directly with their legislators about the real life impacts that they have experienced because of sexual and domestic violence. Click here to register!

Please check our Public Policy Priorities page regularly for opportunities to be active on CCADV’s policy agenda, and sign up to receive action alerts and the most current information on CCADV’s policy efforts.

CCADV’s Public Policy Committee

Join CCADV’s Public Policy Committee today! All are welcome regardless of experience with public policy. Although we appreciate your membership in CCADV to support our work, the Committee is open to members and non-members alike. The Committee directly reviews, discusses, and takes action on legislation and other policy matters that relate to domestic violence.  The Committee provides guidance and support to CCADV’s Public Policy Director regarding:

  • Public policy and decision-making about domestic violence issues on the state and federal level;
  • How systems can better respond to survivors of domestic violence and their children;
  • Ways to collaborate with the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government and with other community organizations to create systems change;
  • Responses to legislation that impacts abused adults and children; &
  • Proactive legislation, including how other states have addressed similar issues.

The Public Policy Committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month at CCADV’s Denver office. Participation by conference call is available for anyone who is unable to attend in person. Please email lwaligorski(at) for more information.
