What is Technical Assistance?

Technical Assistance (TA) refers to resource sharing and problem-solving interactions designed to assist domestic violence service programs, affiliated professionals, governmental and other human service systems with a variety of issues that arise around the complexities of domestic violence work. Violence Free Colorado Technical Assistance is provided with the overarching goal of advancing effective interventions based on national best practices that contribute to the safety and well-being of child, youth, and adult victims/survivors of domestic violence.  Grounded in the fundamentals of feminist-based, survivor-defined advocacy, Violence Free Colorado staff members who provide training and technical assistance are domestic violence experts having over 100 combined years of experience in all areas of domestic violence advocacy, safety services, and nonprofit management and operations. Violence Free Colorado provides an extensive scope of technical assistance on topics including, trauma-informed care, working with child welfare, enhancing services to survivors and their families, coordinated community response, Latin@ outreach, working with boards, nonprofit management,  executive mentoring, advocacy, and more.

Technical Assistance is provided through telephone, email, webinars, the Violence Free Colorado website, in-person contact, and member outreach visits.
